Our client is an established accounting and advisory practice located in regional Queensland is seeking an SMSF Accountant to support its growing self-managed superannuation services offering. This position is suited to an accountant who has foundational experience in public practice and is looking to build deeper capability in SMSF administration and compliance. Working within a dedicated superannuation team, you will assist with the preparation of SMSF financial reports and income tax returns, handle fund commencements and wind-ups, liaise with external auditors and financial advisers, address day-to-day client enquiries and ensure ongoing compliance with current superannuation and taxation requirements. You will also be expected to keep informed of legislative updates relevant to SMSFs and apply these changes accurately in your work. To be successful, you will have approximately one to three years’ experience in an accounting firm environment, hold a relevant accounting qualification (or be progressing toward one) and demonstrate a basic to intermediate understanding of SMSF rules and tax treatment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach are essential. Experience using SMSF administration software will be highly regarded, though candidates with bookkeeping experience who are keen to move into superannuation will also be considered.
