About the role West Moreton Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC) to join the Oncology Day Unit at Ipswich Hospital. This advanced practice role offers a genuine opportunity to grow, consolidate, and refine Nurse Practitioner capabilities within a supportive, multidisciplinary oncology service. The Nurse Practitioner Candidate is an integral member of the Oncology Day Unit team, delivering expert clinical care while progressing toward Nurse Practitioner endorsement. The role supports nurses who are currently enrolled in a Master of Nurse Practitioner program, and provides structured clinical supervision, mentorship, and development aligned to service needs. About you You will be an experienced oncology nurse with a strong foundation in advanced practice and a clear commitment to progressing toward Nurse Practitioner endorsement. You will demonstrate: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Ahpra and enrolment in a Master of Nurse Practitioner program, or eligibility to work as a Nurse Practitioner Candidate. A minimum of five years' post-registration clinical experience, including evidence of advanced practice in oncology nursing. Well-developed clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills in complex care environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. A sound understanding of the Nurse Practitioner model of care and how it integrates within an Oncology Day Unit setting. Engagement in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, education, research, or service development activities.
