What you will be doing Lead and motivate the Lending Operations team to achieve individual and corporate goals. Supervise and support staff, ensuring performance objectives and KPIs are met, with corrective action where needed. Conduct training, identify learning needs, and ensure compliance training is completed on time. Address complaints and internal issues promptly and effectively. Ensure compliance with Bank Australia’s policies and procedures. Monitor workflows for accuracy and timely service delivery. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance customer service and operational efficiency. Manage and maintain Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate. Provide timely, accurate reporting to management. Participate in projects involving lending or lending processes. Act as SME on lending and operational issues to achieve the most satisfactory outcomes. Mentor lending operation staff and support their development. Perform other duties consistent with the role classification, as directed by Management. What you will bring Proven leadership experience in retail banking or financial services, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Strong knowledge of lending processes, policies, and compliance requirements, including Consumer Credit Code and Privacy Act. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage escalations, resolve complaints, and influence outcomes. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands, and deliver against KPIs in a high-volume environment. A people-focused leadership style grounded in integrity, authenticity, and a commitment to Bank Australia’s values. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills, with a focus on continuous development and operational excellence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital systems, with a commitment to timely completion of training, reporting, and audit requirements.
