The key duties of the position include The Role Commercial Branch is seeking to fill multiple positions for (Insert Level) Commercial Officers to support a range of commercial activities across Defence Digital Group (DDG). The successful candidate will be required to exercise sound decision-making skills and apply good judgement and work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders. The ability to focus on outcomes and delivery are essential, and a sense of humour helps as well. Activities may include: Providing commercial advice for procurements and contract management within the ICT Program; Providing flexible and direct support for large ICT program/s of work; Coordination with Defence projects and relevant stakeholders to ensure rapid transition to acquisition for capabilities within the ICT Program; Procurement of ICT support services and other enabling agreements; Performing category management research and development activities; and Building and sustaining productive relationships with clients and stakeholders, including service providers and subject matter experts to provide contract management advice and respond to contract enquiries. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. We perform commercial activities such as ICT category management to understand the market, leading sourcing activities to ensure ongoing commercial leverage for Defence, management of complex contracts to enable flexibility, a clear focus on industry and supplier relationships, and operations that ensure commercial best practice.
