Surfacing Contractors Australia is now seeking a State Manager – Queensland to lead and grow the Queensland business unit as part of their national leadership team. The Opportunity This is a senior operational leadership role for a hands-on construction or trades-based manager who thrives on accountability, team leadership and delivering high-quality project outcomes. You will take full responsibility for the Queensland business unit, overseeing site operations, commercial performance, staff leadership and client relationships, while aligning closely with national leadership and systems. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Oversee day-to-day operations across installation teams, subcontractors and project workflows Coordinate labour, scheduling, procurement and resource allocation Ensure adherence to company processes, QA systems and WHS standards Maintain high standards of safety, quality and productivity Financial & Commercial Accountability Forecast project revenue and operational expenditure Support cashflow planning for the business unit Monitor project performance, profitability and delivery timelines Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency People Leadership Lead site, sales and administrative teams Mentor, develop and support staff performance Workforce planning, recruitment and team capability building Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism and teamwork Client & Stakeholder Management Maintain and grow key client relationships Work closely with the General Manager and national leadership Contribute to strategic planning and business improvement initiatives About You You are a practical, commercially aware operational leader with strong site-based understanding. You bring: Management experience in construction, trades, installation or project-based industries Experience leading both field and office teams Strong financial and commercial acumen Ability to balance people leadership with operational control Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills Excellent communication across all levels High level of organisation and attention to detail Qualifications in business or construction are desirable but not essential.
