Workforce Extensions Geelong are seeking experienced Metal Workers to join IXL Metal Castings, a long-standing and highly respected foundry located in South Geelong. This is a hands-on role within a heavy industrial foundry environment, working with cast metal products. You will be part of a safety-focused team, using hand and pneumatic tools to finish castings and support day-to-day foundry operations. About the role : Fettling and finishing cast metal products using air grinders and air chisels Knocking castings out of moulds and removing runners, risers and excess material Operating shot blasting equipment Using jib cranes and other mechanical aids to move castings Packing castings onto pallets for dispatch General foundry labouring duties as required Shift & roster : Day shift: 6:00am - 2:17pm Monday to Friday 9-day fortnight - every second Friday off What we're looking for : Essential: Previous experience in the metal industry or heavy industrial environment Desirable: Foundry or fettling experience Desirable: Competence with MIG/Stick Welding Mandatory: Current forklift licence (LF) Physically fit and capable of repetitive manual work Comfortable using hand-held and pneumatic tools Able to work safely in a foundry environment (heat, noise, PPE requirements) Reliable, punctual and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team Strong commitment to workplace safety and procedures Why join IXL Metal Castings?
