About the Organisation: Our client is a government organisation undertaking a significant uplift of its internal portal-a platform used by a significant number of contacts and integrated with a major public-facing website. They are reimagining the portal experience with a strong focus on usability, simplicity, and modern digital service design. About the Role: This role is suited to a hands-on UI/UX Designer with 3-5 years' experience and strong recent exposure to public-facing websites. You will help redesign a large, highly customised public-facing portal, working across user research, wireframing, prototyping, A/B testing, and interface design. The project is moving beyond initial groundwork and now requires further research, validation, and practical design execution. You'll collaborate closely within a small, highly competent cross-functional team that values quality, speed, and user-centred thinking. This is an initial 6‑month engagement, with a strong possibility of extension. Responsibilities: Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and analyse findings to shape design direction. Run A/B tests, including concurrent variations, and interpret test data to inform design decisions. Produce wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high‑fidelity UI designs. Use Figma to build scalable UI assets, components and layouts. Apply strong UI fundamentals through HTML, CSS and JavaScript understanding to support design feasibility. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure alignment with technical constraints. Ensure accessibility, responsive design and usability standards across all designs. Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and user experience outcomes. About You Must Have: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on UI/UX design experience. Proven experience delivering UI/UX for public-facing, high‑traffic websites (government or enterprise). Proficiency in Figma, wireframing, prototyping and modern UI design methodologies. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to support technical feasibility. Strong user research capability, including interviews, usability testing and insights synthesis. Experience running A/B tests, including managing two concurrent test variants. Able to work on-site three days per week in Melbourne. Nice to Have: Exposure to Dynamics 365, especially Field Service or Customer Service modules. Experience working on digital transformations or large‑scale platform redesigns. Formal UI/UX, design or interaction‑related qualifications. Familiarity with design systems or contributing to their evolution. How to Apply: Please submit your CV and portfolio showcasing relevant UI/UX work, ideally including public‑facing, high‑traffic or government digital products. Suitable applicants will be contacted for a confidential discussion.
