Associate, Financial Control EOI Expressions of Interest to join Corporate Services, a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $113,574-$125,720 Temporary 6-month role based in Sydney, NSW About the role The role of Associate Financial Control performs finance functions including, but not limited to – General ledger maintenance and reconciliations, insurance, cash management, taxation, and other finance transactional activities via external service providers for the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS) and agencies in the portfolio where DCITHS provides shared or supported corporate services. Key accountabilities of the role include: Prepare month-end accounting activities to ensure complete and accurate data to enable informed financial decision making and budget forecasting. Support the identification of financial risks including transactional, reporting and account reconciliation issues, and assist in the development of mitigation strategies to ensure audit and compliance requirements are met. Work closely with outsourced service providers to ensure that the processing of financial transactions or reporting is accurate and timely under the terms of service level agreement. Undertake accounting functions and projects as required to support organisational activities and requirements. Identify opportunities to improve and implement measures to strengthen financial systems, processes, and frameworks to enhance compliance and reporting. Contribute to the continuous development and management of finance procedures, processes, and controls for the achievement of reliable accounting, reporting and provision of financial information. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in accountancy, commerce, finance, and/or relevant working experience. Experience in finance processes such as accounts payable and receivable, general account reconciliation, tax compliance, financial reporting, and auditing. Developed skills in financial accounting with the ability to interpret and analyse data and translate this into meaningful information. Experience in accounting and related software systems (SAP, Oracle or similar). Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage the performance of financial operations services provided externally.
