About the Role We are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to take a lead role in overseeing workshop compliance, quality systems and mechanical standards across busy industrial environments. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of hands‑on mechanical oversight, quality assurance, auditing and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with maintenance, engineering, technical services and operations teams to ensure all mechanical work meets ISO and Australian Standard requirements. Key responsibilities include: Supporting and maintaining compliance with ISO9001 and ISO/IEC17020 Ensuring adherence to AS3800 and AS3584 across licensed facilities Leading internal and external audit activities Providing mechanical technical guidance to workshop teams Overseeing document control, risk assessments and quality processes Driving continual improvement across mechanical workshop practices Liaising with regulators, suppliers and internal stakeholders This is a Newcastle‑based role with occasional travel for audit and compliance activities. About You You'll thrive in this role if you bring a strong mix of mechanical capability, quality mindset and leadership presence. Ideally, you will have: Mechanical trade qualifications or engineering background Experience working within ISO‑aligned quality systems Exposure to AS3800 / AS3584 environments (highly regarded) Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance practices in heavy industry Confidence leading audits, inspections and compliance activities Excellent communication and report‑writing skills Ability to influence, mentor and support teams across multiple sites A proactive, safety‑first approach This role suits someone who enjoys structure, standards and improving the way things are done while still being connected to the workshop floor.
