About the role This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Insurance Lawyer (2-5 years PAE) to step into a high-performing General Insurance team based in Melbourne. You will take an active role in managing and progressing a diverse portfolio, working on a wide range of public and product liability matters, including personal injury and property damage claims. You will assist major Australian insurers and government bodies on high-value and often high-profile disputes. You will enjoy investigating claims, preparing advice, drafting pleadings, briefing counsel, engaging with stakeholders and contributing to litigation strategy. This role suits a lawyer who thrives on challenging, high-quality work, enjoys client interaction and is eager to build deep expertise in insurance litigation. Duties In this role you will: Advise on a broad range of insurance and liability claims. Manage complex matters with technical accuracy and clear, commercial advice. Build strong client relationships and engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels. Collaborate effectively within a high-performing team while working autonomously and supporting business development. Prioritise multiple matters through strong time management and practical problem-solving skills. Skills & experience Ideally, you will have: Sound experience (2 years PAE) in acting at all stages throughout the litigation process, from initial client meeting, briefing counsel, drafting & instructing, Court appearances (e.g. directions hearings), ideally gained with a reputable local practice. A genuine interest in public liability litigation (personal injury and property damage). Strong attention to detail & technical/drafting skills. Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Interest in networking/practice/profile development. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
