The key duties of the position include These positions report to the AI Capability Director in the AI Capability Team within the AI Branch. The roles will work closely with the APSC to build AI Capability across the APS to deliver on the outcomes of the APS AI Plan and The APS Data, Digital and Cyber Workforce Plan 2025-30. This is a newly established function within the branch which brings an exciting opportunity to craft the direction of the work and impact the uplift of AI capability across the public service. These positions will work with stakeholders across the APS, particularly within the Department of Finance and the Australian Public Service Commission. Key duties: EL1: Lead the evaluation, analysis, and enhancement of AI Fundamentals training and related learning modules to ensure alignment with the Australian Government AI Policy. This includes applying adult learning principles, analysing user feedback, and maintaining high quality, accessible content. Contribute to the development of strategies and initiatives to enhance skills, knowledge, and readiness across the APS. This includes identifying capability gaps and implementing targeted development programs. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance AI capability objectives, promote consistent best practice, and support knowledge sharing across agencies. Build strong relationships and represent the DTA in relevant working groups and forums. APS6: Contribute to the evaluation, analysis and improvement of AI Fundamentals training and related learning modules to ensure they remain aligned with the Australian Government AI Policy. This includes reviewing content, analysing user feedback, applying adult learning principles, and assisting in producing high-quality, accessible learning materials. Support the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance AI skills, knowledge and readiness across the APS. This includes helping identify capability gaps, contributing to the design of targeted development programs, and assisting with monitoring and reporting on capability initiatives. Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support AI capability objectives, share best practice, and contribute to knowledge-sharing activities across agencies. Build and maintain effective working relationships and represent the team in working groups and forums, including preparing materials, contributing to discussions, and ensuring consistent communication and follow-through on agreed actions.
