The key duties of the position include This position reports to the AI Communications & Engagement Director in the AI Communications & Engagement Team within the AI Branch. It is responsible for the engagement function within the branch working closely with internal DTA teams, including the Content & Brand, Strategic Engagement, Strategic Communications, Digital Channels and Ministerial & Parliamentary teams. You will also work closely with key government partners including the AI Data and Evaluation (AIDE) function in the Department of Finance, and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Key duties Lead the management and delivery of major AI engagement forums, including the AI Community of Practice and the Accountable Officials (AO) Forum, ensuring high quality content, participation and cross agency collaboration. Design, plan and deliver high profile DTA led events, including the AI Government Showcase 2026, coordinating closely with partners, vendors, contributors and senior stakeholders. Build, maintain and strengthen relationships across government, industry, unions, peak bodies and civil society to support delivery of the AI Policy, the APS AI Plan and broader whole of government outcomes. Provide strategic engagement advice to the branch, helping shape messaging, approaches and outreach strategies that support responsible AI adoption across the APS. Contribute to the development of communication products, stakeholder materials and engagement plans in collaboration with DTA's communications teams.
