Our client is undertaking a major multi‑year digital uplift program and is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support the ongoing maintenance, optimisation, and lifecycle management of a large Integration and Event‑Driven Architecture environment. This role will work across modern platforms and technologies including Confluent Kafka , Kubernetes/EKS , MuleSoft , Qlik Replicate , and emerging cloud‑native tooling. About the Role You will play a key part in sustaining and evolving the organisation’s integration and microservices platform. This includes lifecycle maintenance, patching, upgrades, performance validation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within a high‑availability environment. This role requires someone who can operate independently, proactively manage platform health, and collaborate closely with technical leads and platform architects Key Responsibilities Reworded to avoid direct duplication: Lead lifecycle and maintenance activities across the integration platform, including Kafka clusters, Kubernetes/EKS, and associated infrastructure. Plan, coordinate, and execute patching cycles while ensuring security, stability, and minimal service interruption. Assess technical risks and dependencies in partnership with architecture and technical leadership teams. Conduct pre‑ and post‑patch validation such as regression testing, performance reviews, and remediation of issues. Maintain clear, accurate documentation covering patching steps, decisions, and outcomes for audit and knowledge‑transfer purposes. Support broader platform development activities when required, including design, deployment, and monitoring of services. Apply hands‑on expertise with Kafka, container orchestration, cloud environments, and related technologies. Assist in major upgrade initiatives, including EKS version uplifts and adoption of secure container image standards (e.g., Bottlerocket). Prepare detailed reporting on patch progress, risks, and results for key stakeholders. Share technical knowledge with internal teams to uplift capability and ensure long‑term sustainability.
