Summary: The role is particularly for NSW devices and associated systems and software packages with accountability for System Integration. This includes maintaining and supporting configuration management, preparation for systems testing, software application development and maintenance of the development / integration environment. The role may also involve application of Integration Specialist activities across other CAE training devices as well as supporting Systems Engineering specialties such as Project Engineering, Systems Architecture and Verification &Validation. Role and Responsibilities: Integration of hardware / software on new generation devices as well as older platforms across host, visual and other systems Preparation of simulators for testing (internal and customer) Assistance with testing of devices, as required Assistance with customer tuning and troubleshooting sessions Work with the engineering team to integrate mod kits and maintain master configurations (visual, host, other) Configuration manage development and integration environments to insure configuration control and all work takes place in a correct and consistent environment Functional communication including coordination with hardware and software developers Review and troubleshooting of systems packages and architecture Support the maintenance of hardware and software for the various simulator systems Contribute to the set-up, support and maintenance of the development/integration and target environments (including back-ups) Support the completion of any necessary configuration documentation required for incorporation Contribute to the identification risks associated with integration and the development of mitigation strategies Training and mentoring of less experienced engineers Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering or Computer Science; or equivalent experience Has a minimum of five (5) years of related experience Key Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages. Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Strong understanding of software-hardware interface concepts. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., GitHub). Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle. Able to work with minimal guidance and supervision. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues. Eligible for Defence security clearance (NV1 preferred). Willingness to travel frequently. Location: Homebush, NSW We operate a hybrid working approach.
