The key duties of the position include The Role Defence has embarked on a large-scale business transformation through the adoption of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) capability. This is a fundamental change program to modernise, integrate and transform Defence's approach to managing its finances, procurement, workforce, military supply chain and logistics, engineering and maintenance, and estate management. To underpin this transformation, Defence are introducing the latest SAP S/4HANA solution. The ERP Business Operations Centre (BOC) is a new Branch established within the Associate Secretary Group (ASG) to lead the business adoption and ongoing sustainment of the ERP capability within Defence. A key function of the BOC is the ERP Service Hub that will provide support to the organisation through a comprehensive user service support model focused on the user experience. The BOC have an EL1 leadership role within the Service Hub responsible for managing the lifecycle of enhancements through the ITIL change process supporting the ERP Enhancement process. In addition, the role includes participation in a small project team responsible for the successful implementation of ServiceNow IT Service Management for the ERP Capability, and the associated transition from current Service Management tools, workflows and procedures to the ServiceNow environment. The implementation of the ERP Capability across the Defence enterprise requires individuals in leadership roles with strong relationship skills and adaptability to support the enterprise in delivering business outcomes. To build a successful capability, the BOC is inviting new team members with the following skills and attributes: Experience in ITIL Change Management Experience in IT Service Management, service planning and task management Experience in ServiceNow rollouts Awareness of broader actions that may impact on the output of other functionality. Analyse, explain and operationalise change enablement procedures. Coordinate change arrangements delivered through customer service tickets. Work collaboratively with other ERP stakeholders, including CAB fora. Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks. Accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others. About our Team The ERP Business Operations Centre (BOC) is a Branch within the Associate Secretary Group (ASG) to lead the business adoption and ongoing sustainment of ERP within Defence. This function plays an integral role in ensuring ERP meets the business needs of Defence, and that the enterprise effects of the program are realised. The ERP BOC consists of a multi-skilled integrated (APS, ADF, Contractor) workforce, responsible to the Associate Secretary for the orchestration of ERP capability. This will be achieved through centralised business assurance, policy and process alignment, the provision of ERP data governance support, analytical and business interrogation activities, and working collaboratively to drive value chain optimisation. The BOC also provides the military and civilian training support for ERP capability, as well as a business transaction hub to support or conduct a range of ERP transactions including: Force Element structure establishment; major asset maintenance and planning activities; supply chain business processes; estate and maintenance; and human resource, financial management, and case management support. The BOC Data Governance and Lifecycle Team leads the engagement with Data Division, and provides oversight on how data roles manage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data relationships, health and storage of data. It assures alignment of Data Governance Frameworks and apply good practice to data management.
