LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE As the MEP Engineer (Rail/Metro), you’ll design Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems that support telecommunications infrastructure across rail and metro environments. This includes stations, equipment rooms, technical spaces, tunnels and underground facilities. You will: Design or specify equipment room HVAC, cooling loads, heat dissipation, ventilation, and environmental controls Define power distribution, UPS systems, backup power, load calculations, and earthing/bonding requirements Specify structural mounting systems, cable trays, restraints, equipment support structures, and spatial layouts Review equipment specifications, installation requirements, clearances, access needs and environmental constraints Provide MEP requirements to contractors and integrate with building/station design teams Review contractor designs, shop drawings and submissions for compliance Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality, document non‑conformances, and support commissioning and handover Attend coordination meetings and support resolution of installation or design conflicts LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You bring: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline 5–7 years’ experience in MEP engineering for infrastructure or telecommunications projects Experience working on rail/metro infrastructure and understanding of rail authority requirements Strong capability in HVAC, cooling load calculations, electrical load analysis, UPS sizing, spatial planning, and cable support systems Experience coordinating with contractors and reviewing designs for compliance Knowledge of building codes, rail standards and approval processes CAD competency (AutoCAD, Revit) and strong Microsoft Office abilities Professional Engineer/Chartered status (desirable) This role is required to be undertaken from within Australia only.
