Our opportunity We have an opportunity for a National Manager, Product Quality & Standards - Development, you will Champion and elevate Mirvac’s brand and reputation and be the driving force behind our commitment to excellence including building a culture of quality. Support and guide project teams in adopting best practices including aligning with national quality standards while balancing customer, market and feasibility objectives. Your responsibilities will include: National Development Responsibilities Redefine “Quality” with Development Leadership team and drive clear understanding and adoption of quality objectives across the business both from a project and portfolio level Mobilize the National Quality Team to ensure there is adequate coverage and representation across all states and asset classes Own the purpose, accountabilities and outcomes of the National Quality and Standards Committee (NQSC) Review and approval of all National Quality and Standards Committee notes Assist in facilitating and reaching agreement on NQSC advisory and technical notes across BTS, BTR, Commercial Mixed Use and Industrial Review synergies between the Owners Corp Manual and CMU/MPC/BTR Manuals and drive standardization where appropriate Review and sign off on all deviations from non-negotiables proposed by the Technical Team (Senior Technical Manager (STM), Technical Manager (TM) Manage all communications to the business regarding roll out of new standards and any changes required to non-negotiables and design principles with State GMs Review submissions from STM's with respect to the National Construction Code (NCC) updates across all classes of the NCC Periodic technical reporting (fortnightly/monthly) to State GMs and Head of Division State Legislation & Policy Approve changes to the state-based Legislation Matrix to ensure projects satisfy all legislation requirements across the project life cycle under required governance framework Represent Mirvac at the Monthly Property Council of Australia Building Regulator Roundtable Communicate outcomes of proposed legislation reform with State GM's and Head of Division Post Completion Chair of fortnightly National Technical Meeting Key contributor to quarterly National Post Completion Meetings Review and approval of STM recommendations arising from state specific 2 and 6 year defect reports Assess proposed solutions with respect to proposed changes to Mirvac’s minimum standards for discussion with the NQSC. Review and reporting of post completion matters and budgets to State GMs from a technical perspective. Liaise and communicate regularly with state strata managers and owners’ corporation Design and Construction (as required, in conjunction with technical managers within Team) Review project development briefs to ensure alignment with technical requirements Review cost plan drawings, detailed drawings, floor plans, renders and marketing collateral to ensure alignment with technical requirements Attend weekly state-based design meetings to ensure alignment with technical requirements. Negotiating with external consultants where required. Attend design workshops (as required) such as water shedding/waterproofing, planter box reviews, DOOR reviews. Attend active construction sites weekly to inspect and ensure compliance with technical requirements. Resolve on site RFI’s during construction where the teams may require further technical expertise. Resolve disputes between MDES, MCPL and MDEV regarding options for a technical related issue. improvement towards the Mirvac’s FY30 Sustainability goals. Review of technical running list submissions from MCPL where the SDM/DM may not have the expertise to assess the variation due to its complexity. Review and project teams VO opportunities for projects. Your point of difference You will be professionally qualified with a Construction, Development, Design related degree and significant design/ project / development management experience with appropriate site experience in high quality Multi-storey residential apartments and have demonstrated experience with legal, insurance, financial, approval (DA & CC Sec96 etc) & planning and environmental aspects of planning. You will have a calm, professional and mature attitude with empathetic and adaptive leadership skills coupled with deep stakeholder management skills and be passionate for process and continuous improvements.
