We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Finance team and support the Senior Tax Manager across Levande’s operating entities and retirement living developments. The opportunity This is a technically focused, commercially engaged role with strong exposure to GST, land tax, FBT and broader property-related tax and reporting matters. Working closely with Finance, Development and external advisors, you will help ensure Levande meets its indirect tax obligations while embedding tax considerations into key business decisions. This role will suit a tax professional who enjoys applying legislation to practical, commercial scenarios and partnering with stakeholders outside of tax. Key responsibilities Manage Levande’s indirect tax obligations, with a strong focus on GST and land tax Prepare and review tax calculations for property acquisitions, disposals and development activities Provide tax input into project feasibilities, land tax forecasts and long-term asset strategies Prepare and lodge BAS and FBT returns, and support year-end tax reporting Maintain Fixed Asset Registers (FAR) and CGT cost base records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, capital allowances and balancing charges Prepare cost base reporting to support tax disposal planning and asset strategy Reconcile GST clearing accounts and support tax effect accounting Review vendors and contractor payments for payroll tax and superannuation compliance, working closely with Payroll Liaise with State Revenue Offices, the ATO, auditors and external tax advisors Manage ATO portal matters and maintain land tax databases across the Levande property portfolio Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax governance, processes and controls About you You are a technically capable tax professional who can translate legislation into clear, practical advice. You will bring: 2–4 years’ experience in Australian tax, ideally within property, construction or retirement living Hands-on experience preparing and lodging BAS Strong working knowledge of Australian GST Exposure to state taxes and duties and property-related tax issues A degree in Accounting, Tax or a related discipline CA or CPA qualification, or currently working toward it Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment A collaborative working style and confidence partnering with non-tax stakeholders Experience in retirement village accounting will be well regarded but is not essential.
