The Role This position is primarily focused on truck and heavy vehicle fit-ups, including the installation, modification, and integration of accessories and custom components. Key responsibilities include: Carry out complete vehicle and truck fit-ups, including bull bars, taillight bars, toolboxes, trays, guards, steps, and ancillary equipment Install and integrate aftermarket and OEM accessories to heavy vehicles and chassis Fabricate, modify, and assemble vehicle bodies and custom components to suit fit-up requirements Interpret technical drawings, job cards, and specifications to ensure accurate installation Perform MIG/TIG welding and metal fabrication on aluminium and steel components Modify vehicle chassis and body structures to accommodate accessories and custom designs Install and connect hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems as part of fit-ups Work closely with design, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery Conduct quality control checks to ensure all fit-ups meet safety, compliance, and workmanship standards Operate workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop in line with WHS requirements The Ideal Candidate Trade Qualification in Vehicle Body Building, Fabrication or Boilermaking 2–5 years’ experience in vehicle body building, truck fit-ups, fabrication, or a related trade Proven experience with heavy vehicle, truck, or trailer accessory installation Strong understanding of vehicle fit-up processes and integration of accessories Experience working in low-volume, high-quality build environments (highly regarded) Proficient in MIG/TIG welding and general metal fabrication Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings and technical plans Competent with hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery Sound knowledge of vehicle body structures and modification techniques Basic working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and pneumatic components High attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and a strong safety mindset If you believe you have the right skills for our role, please send us your updated resume by clicking the apply button.
