Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a skilled Auto Electrician to join our workshop team in Cowra NSW As an Auto Electrician at K-Drive, you’ll be responsible for the installation, wiring, and fit-out of electrical systems on custom-built commercial and industrial vehicles. This role plays a key part in delivering compliant, high-quality vehicles that meet customer specifications and Australian standards. You’ll work closely with fabricators, fellow electricians, and leading hands in a fast-paced workshop environment. PLEASE NOTE; Applicants will be invited to complete an automated screening as part of the shortlisting process. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Fit-Out Install, wire, and connect lighting systems, beacons, control panels, and accessory circuits Fit switches, relays, batteries, solenoids, fuses, inverters, and related components Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and build sheets accurately Perform continuity, polarity, and voltage testing Install Coolabah air conditioning units Customisation & Diagnostics Custom-fit electrical systems including GPS units, reversing cameras, load sensors, and dual battery systems Diagnose and rectify wiring faults and component issues efficiently Ensure wiring looms and installations are neat, secure, and professional Compliance & Safety Ensure all work complies with Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and road vehicle standards Follow K-Drive safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality controls Complete QA checks and functional testing prior to vehicle handover Team & Workshop Support Collaborate with electricians, fabricators, and supervisors to meet build schedules Contribute to continuous improvement in electrical fitment processes Assist with mentoring apprentices or trade assistants when required About You Automotive Electrical Trade Cert Air Conditioning Ticket Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, or industrial electrical fitting Exposure to truck, trailer, mining, fleet builds and workshop environments Experience with 12V and 24V systems Strong ability to read wiring diagrams and technical specifications Confident using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Knowledge of battery systems, fusing, relays, power distribution, and CAN bus systems High attention to detail and pride in workmanship Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Reliable, organised, and able to work to production deadlines Team player with clear communication skills What We Offer: Stable, full-time employment Monday–Friday - 7am to 4pm Occasional overtime available Modern workshop working on premium truck brands Supportive, team-based environment PPE provided and strong safety culture Opportunity to work on custom, high-end vehicle builds — not repetitive repairs If you’re an Auto Electrician who enjoys hands-on custom work and taking pride in building quality heavy vehicles, we’d love to hear from you.
