About the Role The Department undertakes all care for diabetes and endocrinology with a role in Brisbane and across the state. You will undertake:- One diabetes and one endocrinology clinic per week.- On-call for endocrinology and diabetes on a pro-rata basis. This will be approximately 3-4 weeks of on-call for theyear. Approximately 50% of the on call is shared with a first on call fellow. All patients under the care of theDepartment will be reviewed daily by the SMO or fellow and patients will be seen by you for follow-up ifdiagnosed under your on-call period. You are responsible for ensuring a discharge summary is completed andsent to primary care or other facilities within the agreed CHQ timeframe. It is expected that much reduced out-patient activity will occur during the week on-call. Arrangements for flexible working during non-on-call weekscan be negotiated.- You will attend a weekly departmental meeting for handover of acute care, for continuing medical education anddiscussion of research, for discussion of management issues and review of cases and incidents.
