ABOUT THE ROLE: • Melbourne CBD working location • Full-time permanent position • Monday – Friday • Competitive salary The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and availability of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure supporting GBS customers. The role provides expert-level technical support across the Wilson Group, leading infrastructure deployment and maintenance, planning and implementing system changes, and reviewing designs to recommend continuous improvements. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: IT Operations • Provide advanced technical support for BAU operations across on-premise and cloud environments • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues as required • Collaborate with and mentor team members to support capability uplift • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of infrastructure changes • Review new and existing system designs and recommend improvements to optimise performance and security • Adhere to service delivery metrics, including response and resolution times • Maintain IT infrastructure to ensure high availability, security and reliability • Develop, maintain and contribute to the IT knowledge base • Participate in an on-call support roster • Maintain effective communication with customers and external vendors Information and Cyber Security • Support the Information Security Manager in securing organisational information from cyber risks • Participate in cybersecurity reviews of all new systems and solutions • Assist in identifying, assessing and mitigating security vulnerabilities • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality and security of the IT environment • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a large enterprise environment • Demonstrated experience supporting complex and diverse infrastructure environments • Experience using ITSM tools in a large enterprise setting • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and functions, with a focus on incident management and response • Experience working in a customer-focused environment (internal and/or external) • Proven technical documentation and writing skills • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V clustering • Experience with Cloudflare platform services, including WAF and Zero Trust • Strong experience with Microsoft cloud products and services, including: • Azure IaaS, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Desired Experience • Linux operating system experience • SQL experience • Automation experience, including CI/CD pipeline concepts Personal Attributes • Strong time management and task prioritisation skills • Proven analytical and problem-solving ability • Takes accountability and responsibility for own actions • Ability to prioritise workloads based on business urgency • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team • Capability to manage escalations while ensuring customer satisfaction • Ability to provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance to support teams • Well-developed communication skills, enabling effective engagement with: • Internal stakeholders at all levels • Colleagues • External service providers Qualifications • University degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge • Microsoft MCSE certification • Microsoft Azure Associate or Expert-level certification The Wilson Group is an industry leader in the provision of diversified services including Parking, Security, Health, Storage and Technology Solutions.
