Senior Occupational Therapist – Children’s Service Based in Glebe | Willingness to Travel Required Salary Package: $55–60 per hour We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our children’s service . This role focuses on working closely with parents and carers to identify meaningful goals for their children and support them to achieve these goals, while balancing high-quality, family-centred practice with the achievement of measurable financial targets . Role Description The Senior Occupational Therapist will work closely with children and their families to identify goals, build skills, and support positive outcomes through play-based, family-centred, and strengths-based approaches . This includes coaching parents, carers, and adults in childcare and community settings to understand each child’s needs and implement inclusive practices. The role involves providing therapy across multiple settings , including transition playgroups, home visits, education and care services, and community programs, while collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders. You will identify families where support is needed, implement strategies to reduce risks, and facilitate smooth transitions between services. All services will align with SDN’s Practice Framework, NDIS quality and safeguarding principles, legislative requirements, and program objectives , while monitoring outcomes and contributing to ongoing service improvement. Key Responsibilities Deliver play-based, family-centred occupational therapy and coaching to children, families, and adults working with children Support families in developing children’s skills through everyday activities and access to services, including transition playgroups, centre visits, home visits, sport and leisure programs, and before/after school care Work collaboratively in trans-disciplinary and multi-agency teams Identify families and children at risk and implement strategies to reduce risk and support family wellbeing Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and program outcomes Ensure services meet SDN standards, legislative requirements, and NDIS principles Maintain professional practice in accordance with SDN’s Code of Conduct and policies Undertake other duties as requested consistent with the position Essential Criteria University qualifications in Occupational Therapy Current AHPRA registration Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience Demonstrated experience working with children (including those transitioning to high school) with disabilities or developmental delays in inclusive and mainstream settings Proven experience delivering family-centred, strengths-based, and play-based approaches Ability to contribute effectively within trans-disciplinary and multi-agency teams Demonstrated cultural competence Experience coaching families and professionals to build capacity and support children’s development Strong time management skills and ability to meet financial targets Sound understanding of the NDIS Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Check Current driver’s licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle Willingness to travel What We Offer Senior role within a child-focused, family-centred service Opportunity to make meaningful impact on children and families Supportive, collaborative team environment Professional and values-driven workplace Salary package: $55–60 per hour To Apply: Please email your resume to careers@saveourservice.com.au To apply online, please click on the appropriate link below.
