Job Description We are seeking a Graduate to Mid-Level Drainage Engineer to join our growing Water and Environment team in Queensland. This role is suited to an engineer with a foundation in drainage design using 12d who wants to expand their capability into dynamic stormwater modelling, WSUD, flooding and integrated water outcomes. You will work closely with the Director – Water Resources and Flooding and be supported by a national team of over 100 technical specialists. The role offers direct involvement in project delivery, structured mentoring, and exposure to increasingly complex stormwater and flood engineering problems across urban development and infrastructure projects. Specifically: Develop drainage designs for urban development and local and state government projects, including preparation of 12d drainage models, drawings, specifications and technical reports. This includes the design and documentation of detention basins and WSUD systems and, where applicable, integration with broader catchment models and downstream constraints. Assist in the conceptual and detailed design of civil and stormwater infrastructure such as drainage networks, basins, dams, earthworks and overland flow management. Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports, drawings, modelling outputs, specifications and cost estimates to support planning approvals and detailed design. Undertake hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tasks with support from senior engineers, gaining exposure to industry-standard tools and methodologies for stormwater and flood assessment. Assist with project coordination, documentation and communication with internal teams and external stakeholders as part of multidisciplinary project delivery.
