GHD’s Victorian Resources Group is seeking passionate and experienced Tailings Engineers to join our globally recognised design team. This is your chance to work on projects that shape the future of mining - delivering ethical, sustainable solutions for tailings storage facilities and mine waste management. Our expertise also extends to closure designs for tailings dams, waste rock dumps, and other critical mine site features. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to projects across every state in Australia and support international assignments, with the potential for global movement as opportunities arise. With offices around the world and a strong pipeline of work, we offer exposure to diverse projects and ambitious growth plans. This role is ideal for site-based professionals ready to transition into consultancy, as well as current tailings engineers seeking to broaden their experience in a dynamic and collaborative consultancy environment. You’ll leverage your practical experience to tackle complex challenges, collaborating with industry leaders to deliver innovative solutions for our clients. What you’ll do: Drive tailings management projects from design through to closure, ensuring safety and sustainability. Provide expert guidance in tailings engineering, geotechnical analysis and related disciplines. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies. Partner with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Manage projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. What you’ll bring: A relevant engineering qualification and recent experience in tailings. Familiarity with GISTM, ICMM, and ANCOLD guidelines. Experience managing financial and technical aspects of project delivery. Strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary environments. A proactive approach to problem-solving and client engagement.
