Description Confluence Water, a Downer, Ventia and Jacobs Joint Venture, is one of three regional consortia delivering design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services for Sydney Water. As the North Delivery team, we stretch from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, including the Hills Shire. Confluence Water is Sydney Water's partner responsible for the delivery of an unprecedented pipeline of capital works as part of a 10-year program. Reporting to the Health & Safety Business Partner, this permanent full-time Health & Safety Advisor role is your opportunity to get out in the field, partner directly with operations, and be the subject matter expert they want to engage with. You’ll play a key role in the success of our operational contract, with regular site-based work and genuine influence on how work is planned and delivered. Our goal is simple but ambitious: operations own safety, and our Health & Safety team are the coaches, mentors and technical experts who play a key role in facilitating the capability uplift to make that possible. You’ll help create the conditions for our teams to thrive – performing work successfully, without harm to people, the communities we serve, or the environments we work in. This is a critical role focused on coaching and influencing operational staff at all levels, supporting the implementation, practical application and embedded understanding of The Downer Standard. While you’ll be part of a supportive team, you’ll also need to be comfortable working autonomously, managing your time and priorities in a fast-paced environment. What you’ll bring: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Health, Safety, Environment practitioner Exposure to high-risk industries, preferably construction or infrastructure (previous experience in operational roles highly regarded) Relevant tertiary qualifications (Diploma of Work Health Safety, Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor desirable) Experience in incident investigation and reporting (ICAM highly desired) High level of problem solving with the ability to professionally navigate complex issues. Ability to positively influence change and communicate effectively with multiple types of stakeholders. Strong knowledge of Critical Risk management framework.
