Description Confluence Water, a Downer, Ventia and Jacobs Joint Venture, is one of three regional consortia delivering design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services for Sydney Water. As the North Delivery team, we stretch from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, including the Hills Shire. Confluence Water is Sydney Water's partner responsible for the delivery of an unprecedented pipeline of capital works as part of a 10-year program. Reporting to the Health & Safety Business Partner, this permanent full-time Senior Health & Safety Advisor role is designed for someone who thrives upstream of the work. You will embed risk management into planning, design and mobilisation so crews can execute safely, confidently, and efficiently. Our goal is simple but ambitious: operations own safety, and our Health and Safety team are the coaches, mentors and technical experts who play a key role in facilitating the capability uplift to make that possible. In this role, you will enable safer delivery by working early with delivery leaders to build safety in, not bolt it on. As part of our health & safety function structure, the Senior Advisor position is intentionally tactical and planning-led. You will partner with Superintendents, Project Managers and Engineers to anticipate WHS risks, strengthen work preparation, and improve the quality of controls and decision-making before teams mobilise. You will maintain periodic site presence to keep planning connected to execution, while focusing your effort where the work is shaped. ABOUT YOU We’re looking for someone who is: Trusted by leaders. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health and Safety (desired) Minimum 5 years’ experience as a HSE practitioner in a high-risk industry (construction or infrastructure preferred) Experience leading or supporting Risk and Opportunity and Safety in Design workshops Strong ability to plan and integrate WHS controls Capability to lead or co-lead investigations into serious or high potential incidents (ICAM desirable) Strong tactical improvement mindset with the ability to identify systemic risks and implement uplift initiatives Confidence supporting the planning and mobilisation of high-risk or complex work fronts Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability supporting Advisors and developing H&S professionals Strong knowledge of Critical Risk management framework.
