We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to lead and grow our QA capability while remaining hands‑on with automation. This role requires someone who has line‑managed QA Engineers before and can also contribute directly to automation frameworks, particularly using Cypress. You will guide quality strategy, uplift testing practices, and ensure our teams deliver high‑quality, reliable, and scalable products. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Line Management Line‑manage, mentor, and support QA Engineers across the team Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning Build a strong QA culture focused on collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement Lead QA ceremonies, standards, and best practices across squads Quality Strategy & Delivery Own and evolve the QA strategy, ensuring high standards across all releases Define and maintain quality guidelines, acceptance criteria, and test approaches Drive improvements in test coverage, automation, and overall product quality Ensure all solutions are robust, reliable, and fully tested before release Hands‑On Automation & Testing Build, maintain, and execute automated tests using Cypress Cucumber (BDD) Support and guide teams in writing high‑quality automated and manual tests Perform functional, exploratory, cross‑browser, and API testing Ensure automation is integrated into CI/CD pipelines Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Engineers, and Scrum Masters Participate in planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retros, and Three Amigos sessions Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead their implementation Contribute to QA reporting, documentation, and knowledge‑sharing across Tes Engineering What You Will Bring Experience Proven experience as a QA Lead with direct line‑management responsibility Strong hands‑on automation experience, ideally with Cypress Cucumber Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks Background in functional, exploratory, cross‑browser, and UAT testing Experience with API testing (Postman, Swagger) Strong understanding of CI/CD testing practices Experience using Xray, JIRA, GitLab/GitHub Ability to influence both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Skills & Knowledge Skilled in reviewing requirements and defining clear acceptance criteria Strong test planning, test case writing, and defect reporting Solid JavaScript fundamentals for automation scripting Strong communication, leadership, and coaching skills Pragmatic, empathetic, and able to balance quality with delivery needs Why TesOur intuitive technology streamlines complex tasks, enhances learning experiences, and alleviates the administrative burdens that often overwhelm schools.
