We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our global Architecture team and play a key role in shaping the future of Tes’ EdTech SaaS platform. Based in our Melbourne technology hub, you will provide architectural leadership for APAC while collaborating with teams across Europe and Asia. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑moving environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and can influence technology direction at scale. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Transformation, and senior stakeholders, you will help define architectural standards, design secure and scalable solutions, and drive Tes’ transformation into a future‑fit global platform. Key Responsibilities Partner with stakeholders to identify issues and translate them into clear architectural briefs Create and own architectural solutions for APAC, aligned with global standards Support technology strategy, roadmaps, patterns, and reference architectures Promote reuse of technology and establish common solutions across Tes Contribute to architectural principles and policies for assigned domains Ensure consistent architectural documentation using standardised tools and approaches Drive adoption of architectural standards through governance frameworks Embed architectural thinking across teams and champion best practices Design and integrate information systems to meet business needs Participate in Agile ceremonies and workshops to support delivery teams Collaborate with Heads of Engineering, Tech Leads, Product, and Transformation teams What You Will Bring Experience Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role Strong background in software design and architecture patterns Experience delivering architecture in large‑scale, fast‑moving environments Ability to design secure, scalable, reliable, and high‑performance solutions Experience producing both high‑level and low‑level designs Hands‑on experience with microservices, APIs, and integration patterns Knowledge Strong understanding of Domain‑Driven Design principles Working knowledge of microservices architecture and integration approaches Understanding of business processes and integration architecture Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications Working knowledge of at least one coding language: C#, React, or Java Skills Strong leadership and decision‑making capability Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly Skilled in facilitating workshops and architectural discussions Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Highly organised with strong documentation skills Ability to anticipate issues and propose effective solutions Innovative mindset with a focus on improving technology and delivery Ability to influence decisions and negotiate outcomes across teams Why Tes Our intuitive technology streamlines complex tasks, enhances learning experiences, and alleviates the administrative burdens that often overwhelm schools.
