The Slope Operations team ensure the smooth and safe running of Thredbo’s Snowmaking, Snow Grooming, Terrain Parks and Patrol. Snowmaker & Controller Operate state-of-the-art snowmaking equipment to keep the mountain covered and supplement natural snowfall. Work through the night, travel on snowmobiles, and help create a fantastic snow experience for all guests. These night owls work hard through the dark to bring everyone great snow conditions all season long. Skills & Experience Valid drivers Licence. Safely operate a snowmobile (Highly desirable). Safely operate side by sides and quad bikes (Highly desirable). Computers and software programs (snowmaking controllers). Grooming Drive a fleet of snow cats to prepare and maintain Thredbo’s slopes to the highest standard. Shape and craft pristine runs that guests can enjoy from the first chair to the last. Working closely with snowmaking, this department push, smooth and farm man-made and natural snow in state-of-the-art snowcats to create the great runs Thredbo is famous for. This team is self-motivated, committed to detail, not afraid of the dark, and tackle the mountain in all kinds of weather. Skills & Experience Valid drivers licence. Intermediate to advanced ski or snowboard skills. Being able to take and act on directions and manage priorities. Being reliable and can handle pressure with professionalism. Terrain Park Shaper Build, maintain, and shape terrain park features for riders of all levels. Combine creativity and safety to deliver exciting, innovative, and fun park experiences every day. As well as building and maintaining Thredbo’s main parks, this department are also behind special event park builds like the insane Holy Bowly and Transfer Banked Slalom courses. Skills & Experience Demonstrating some park riding experience. Advanced ski or snowboard skills (comfortable on black runs). Being able to take and act on directions and manage priorities. Being reliable and can handle pressure with professionalism. Previous experience as a terrain park attendant (highly desirable). Ski Patrol In this role you are responsible providing medical aid, stabilising injured guests, and transporting them safely to the medical centre. You will promote mountain safety through education, signage, and trail management, while staying calm under pressure. In this role you are responsible for the safety and well-being of all mountain users. It is essential that you can provide risk management, complete incident reporting & Investigation and proficient in documentation. Skills & Experience Demonstrate experience in accident prevention, lift evacuation, trail work, speed control, Avalanche Control. ASPA Certification, or international equivalent. Advanced First Aid (HLTAID014). Previous ski patrol experience, including handling a rescue sled (akja). Advanced ski or snowboard skills. Valid Drivers Licence.
