Job Description This position provides waste services through the safe and efficient operation of waste plant and equipment, including backhoe and forklift, as well as general labour and other duties required to support Council's Waste Transfer Services. These services facilitate the collection, sorting, recycling, reuse and disposal of waste received from the general public. The role includes the operation of rural Transfer Stations within the municipality and participation in other duties as rostered as part of the Waste Services team. A key component of the position is delivering high-quality customer service, including assisting and educating members of the public on correct waste disposal practices, monitoring waste streams to minimise contamination, and ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-maintained facility for all users. Position Description Desired Skills and Experience The successul applicant will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in waste management operations, including the operation of waste transfer facilities and associated plant and equipment. Current licences and/or certification to operate relevant plant, including backhow and forklift, are required. The applicant will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team, deliver a high standard of customer service to members of the public, and carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Council policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
