Position Purpose The Painting Trades Worker is responsible for carrying out skilled painting and finishing tasks across a variety of worksites while supporting overall project delivery. This role blends independent trade execution with team-based assistance, requiring the ability to work autonomously on allocated tasks while also assisting senior painters and supervisors on complex or high-access works. The position demands technical competence, reliability, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities Trade and Technical Duties Preparing interior and exterior surfaces through sanding, scraping, patching, sealing, and priming Applying paints, varnishes, stains, lacquers, and protective coatings using brush, roller, and spray-painting methods Operating spray-painting equipment to achieve uniform, high-quality finishes Mixing paints and coatings in accordance with product specifications and job requirements Reading and following job instructions, drawings, and finish schedules Team and Project Support Assisting senior painters with detailed finishes and specialised coating applications Supporting scaffold-based and height-access works in line with safety procedures Working cooperatively with team members to meet project timelines and site requirements Maintaining site cleanliness, masking, surface protection, and post-work clean-up Work Health and Safety Working safely on scaffolding and elevated platforms Complying with all WHS policies, safe work method statements, and PPE requirements Identifying and reporting hazards, surface defects, or access issues Quality and Professional Standards Delivering finishes that meet company quality standards and client expectations Maintaining a professional manner when working on active sites and client premises Skills and Experience Required Essential Requirements Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (CPC30620 or equivalent) Minimum 1 year of relevant trade experience Construction Induction Card (White Card) Demonstrated experience working on scaffolding and elevated access systems Proven experience using spray-painting equipment Strong knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, and finishing techniques Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Attributes Experience across residential and commercial painting projects High attention to detail and strong workmanship standards Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused approach What We Offer Full-time, ongoing employment with a specialist painting contractor Competitive salary aligned with skills and experience Consistent workflow across structured projects Supportive trade-based team environment
