You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment where safety and precision are paramount. This role requires a strong technical background in earthworks and a commitment to regulatory compliance. Key areas of responsibility include: Project Planning & Scope Management: Define project scope, goals, deliverables & timelines specific to excavation works Safety & Compliance: Implement & enforce all health, safety & environmental standards & regulations on-site Ensure compliance with local building codes, permits & regulatory requirements Experience with safety procedures related to underground essential services is critical Budget & Resource Management: Prepare accurate cost estimates, manage allocated budgets, track financial progress & control expenses efficiently Coordinate labour resources, materials, plant & heavy equipment procurement & delivery Coordination & Stakeholder Communication: Liaise effectively with clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors & regulatory authorities Prepare & present detailed, clear progress reports to relevant stakeholders Risk Management & Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential risks inherent in excavation (e.g. ground conditions, utility strikes) Develop robust mitigation strategies & contingency plans What You'll Bring Proven experience as a Project Manager in excavation, civil works or a related field, preferably within the piling/shoring sector Strong knowledge of OHS/WHS regulations, especially in high-risk construction environments Demonstrated ability to manage complex budgets and multi-disciplinary teams Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation strategies Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Proficiency in using services such as BYDA before commencing work Commitment to being a positive contributor to our team environment Who are we We’re a dynamic team of construction professionals and a lean office staff who thrive on collaboration, genuine support, plenty of straight talk and humour!
