Bring Comfort and Connection as a Volunteer HammondCare Braeside Hospital provides rehabilitation, palliative care, and older persons’ mental health services — and we’re looking for a warm‑hearted volunteer to help bring gentle moments of comfort and companionship. This role is all about kind presence and simple pampering . You might spend time chatting with residents, listening to their stories, or enjoying calming relaxation music together. With training provided, you’ll also offer gentle hand massages and simple nail care like filing or a touch of nail polish. It’s a beautiful way to brighten someone’s day through connection, care, and a soft, soothing touch. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Requirements Applicants must be aged 18 years and over, HammondCare will organise and pay for a national police check. You will be required to meet NSW Dept of Health Immunisation standards for the category of this role (including HepB, Measles mumps and rubella, Tetanus, influenza or be willing to discuss meeting the requirements). One hour each week for 6 months or longer, We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time between Monday to Friday.
