Your Role At St John of God Midland Hospital our midwives are dedicated to providing all aspects of pregnancy, birth and postnatal care in our antenatal clinics and services, on our maternity wards and in birth suites, in addition to care for our babies in our special care nurseries. Our maternity unit features a 24-bed ward and five modern birth suites. Our midwives are dedicated to providing all aspects of pregnancy, birth and postnatal care in our antenatal clinics and services, on our maternity wards and in birth suites, in addition to care for our babies in our special care nurseries. The Position Assesses plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required. Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the ward and within the hospital. Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and preceptoring staff. Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives. You will be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife, with recent clinical experience within Maternity or similar environment. A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, professional codes, and standards is essential, along with a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and possess strong communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
