Your Role We are seeking passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives to join our talent pool for future opportunities. The Position Maintains and develops clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence. Delivers a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively. Adheres to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards. Acts as the patient’s advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals. Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Prioritises workload using resources effectively. Provides supervision to Enrolled Nurses, students and PCAs as required. Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Recognises the necessity to continually develop skills and acquire additional knowledge appropriate to the position. Achieves mandatory annual hospital competencies and assumes responsibility for record maintenance. Actively seeks opportunities for further professional development. Seeks staff development education and presents evidence of attendance to Nurse Manager. Updates practice in accordance with changes in Hospital/Nursing Policies and Procedures Shares knowledge and skills with other staff using informal and formal methods. Maintains responsibility for initiating own annual performance appraisal, setting and achieving objectives, in liaison with Nurse Manager. All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor Position Requirements A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife. Recent clinical experience in an acute care/relevant environment Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team. Well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving. Knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice.
