It’s a new chapter with more possibilities. The Purpose As Head of Risk Governance & Compliance, this role leads AP’s organisation-wide policy, governance, and compliance risk function. The position is responsible for shaping risk strategy, establishing robust frameworks, and providing effective oversight of risk controls and regulatory compliance. The role sets strategic direction for the function, builds organisational capability, and works collaboratively across the business to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with AP’s risk appetite and strategic objectives. Core Accountabilities Lead AP’s enterprise risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Partner with senior leaders to embed effective risk governance and support a strong risk culture across the organisation. Oversee compliance monitoring, assessment, and regulatory reporting obligations. Prepare and deliver clear, timely, and insightful risk reporting to Executive Leadership, the Board Risk Committee, and the Board. Lead, develop, and maintain a capable and high-performing risk and compliance team. Provide expert advice on risk and compliance matters across AP. Drive continuous improvement through emerging risk insights, industry best practice, and appropriate use of technology. Experience and Capability Bachelor’s degree in Risk, Finance, Business, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications are desirable. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in risk and compliance, including senior leadership experience within a Line 2 or similar function within the Payments or Fintech sectors. Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing risk and compliance teams. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk and compliance frameworks, and industry best practice. Proven experience designing, implementing, and embedding organisation-wide risk and compliance frameworks, processes, and tools. Ability to apply an enterprise-wide perspective when balancing business risk, controls, and risk appetite. Experience establishing and operating effective governance frameworks and independent oversight practices. Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators and managing external stakeholder relationships. Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk and regulatory matters into clear, practical insights.
