About us The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. About the role Working in Consumer Affairs Victoria and reporting to the Team Manager, the Investigator is responsible for conducting investigations into significant breaches of consumer law and to contribute to compliance and enforcement actions, including Court and Tribunal actions using the department's integrated compliance and enforcement approach. The role also includes providing guidance and expertise to less experienced colleagues. Please note, this role involves interaction with traders and the general public. The role requires the ability to travel around Victoria, attending inspections and meeting with traders and members of the public. There are multiple positions available. Sees things from another's point of view and confirms understanding; understand motivations, needs, and wants of stakeholders and their impact on service delivery; tailor communications according to audience and/or audience preference Mandatory requirements Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or equivalent is highly desirable. Alternatively, relevant tertiary qualifications may be considered. Previous investigative or compliance/enforcement experience is highly desirable.
