Click here for details and contact the enquires person for further information. About the role The Health Support Officer supports students with complex health care needs to access education. Trained and assessed by RNs, they deliver health support at school or hospital sites, assist with personal care, and follow health plans under supervision. Key duties of the role Provide health support to students with complex or invasive needs using procedures and health plans under RN supervision Perform delegated care, deliver personal care (including medication administration), and respond to emergencies Maintain confidentiality, dignity, independence, and safety of students Ensure health equipment and medications are available, functioning, and report any issues Participate in training, competency assessments, professional development, and quality improvement Skills and Experience Current First Aid Certificate Current Drivers Licence Effective written and oral communication within a multidisciplinary team Provide sensitive client support, maintain confidentiality, and follow instructions Identify and manage emergencies using established procedures Knowledge of infection control, occupational health, and safety practices Specific to OPS2: Cert III in Disability or equivalent Demonstrated experience in high-intensity care (e.g., enteral feeding, catheterisation, tracheostomy, oxygen management) Enquiries can be directed to Charlotte Kirkbride – Access Assistant Program Manager, 3D Health, 0401 997 985 or Charlotte.Kirkbride@sa.gov.au Want to learn more about career opportunities at WCHN?
