Introduction Senior Retail Designer 12-Month Contract | Sydney Reporting to: Head of Retail Experience Description Are you a creative leader with a passion for shaping world-class retail and brand experiences? We are seeking a Senior Retail Designer to drive the creative and technical direction of premium retail environments, fixtures, and brand activations across leading global brands. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll mentor a talented design team while owning projects end-to-end—from concept to delivery—ensuring commercially sound, innovative, and beautifully executed outcomes. About the Role As Senior Retail Designer, you will: Lead, mentor and develop a team of retail designers, maintaining exceptional creative and technical standards Manage workflow, resourcing, prioritisation, and departmental processes Lead the full design lifecycle from concept ideation through to detailed design, prototyping, and final delivery Deliver innovative design solutions across retail, experiential and brand activation projects Set the creative vision through mood boards, sketches, materials exploration and finishes Produce and review high-quality 3D modelling, rendering, and technical documentation Present concepts and recommendations confidently to clients and stakeholders Translate client briefs into compelling, commercially viable design solutions Provide expert guidance on manufacturing, construction, and production feasibility Manage design budgets and contribute to cost optimisation through smart design thinking Collaborate closely with production, project management, and account teams Ensure all documentation complies with project management systems, industry codes and standards Skills And Experiences About You You’re a strategic thinker and inspiring leader who thrives in fast-paced, creative environments. You bring both big ideas and meticulous execution. You’ll ideally bring: 5 years’ experience in retail design with proven leadership or mentoring experience A tertiary qualification in Product Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design or similar Advanced skills in Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, joinery, finishes and manufacturing processes Experience working across large-format retail and/or global brand environments Solid client-facing experience with strong stakeholder engagement skills Knowledge of shopfitting, POSM and manufacturing industries Key Attributes for Success Passionate about design and creative excellence A confident, motivating people leader Proactive, solutions-focused and commercially minded Highly organised with excellent problem-solving ability Strong visual sensibility with exceptional attention to detail Clear, confident communicator with strong presentation skills Collaborative, positive and adaptable in a dynamic environment Why Join Us?
