Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services. About the role As a Youth Private Rental Readiness Worker, this is your opportunity to provide one on one and group support to clients with private rental or share housing as their desired housing outcome. The role is to work with young people to identify barriers to independence and support the development of practical life skills, employability and community support to successfully transition to independent living in the community. Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this is a permanent part-time role offering 30.4 hours, located in St Kilda, VIC. How you will make an impact Provide targeted support to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Inner and Middle South region of Melbourne whose housing goal is private rental, working collaboratively with the YPRAP Worker and case management team to achieve safe and sustainable housing outcomes. Complete comprehensive life and living skills assessments and develop, implement and review individualised Life and Living Skills plans under the direction of the Client Services Coordinator to support transition into independent private rental. Deliver tailored individual and group interventions that build life skills including budgeting, employment readiness, health and wellbeing, maintaining a tenancy, positive parenting and respectful relationships, with flexibility to provide after-hours support where required. Support improved access to private rental by increasing young people’s employability and income capacity and by building connections with local businesses able to provide safe part-time or casual employment opportunities. Maintain a caseload of up to 12 clients, contribute to Youth Services operations including refuge and duty desk support, work within a trauma-informed framework and maintain accurate records while identifying and reporting risks in line with organisational requirements.
