The Position This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of an exciting team at Sydney Zoo in the new role of IT Analyst , utilising your skills in an area that you are genuinely passionate about. This role will commence as soon as possible. The IT Analyst will be responsible for the management of the service desk, support a wide range of operational and business technologies, and contribute to continuous improvement and BAU delivery across the zoo. They will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and well-supported systems year-round, including during major event periods. This role is a hands-on, operational support role with ownership of Level 1 and Level 2 outcomes across guest-facing and business systems which involves overseeing daily tasks and projects, gathering requirements, troubleshooting Microsoft and network systems, and supporting event launches. The IT Analyst will collaborate effectively, solve problems independently, and communicate well with the team while seeking help when needed. The IT Analyst serves as a primary point of contact for IT support across the organisation, with weekend support forming part of the role. Weekend arrangements may vary and will be aligned with operational needs and major events, reflecting Sydney Zoo’s year-round operations. Skills, Knowledge, and Relevant Experience Essential Strong team-first mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business Demonstrated experience resolving Level 1 and Level 2 issues across hardware, software, endpoints, network and operational technology Proven ability to triage and escalate complex issues appropriately Experience supporting and improving POS systems in a commercial environment Experience working with external vendors to resolve incidents and deliver small-to-medium outcomes Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining BAU service standards Experience gathering requirements and translating them into practical support or improvement actions Sound understanding of service desk principles and ITIL-aligned practices Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce concise, structured and useful operational content Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences A structured, methodical approach to troubleshooting and change activity Demonstrated ability to progress urgent tasks independently and responsibly Desirable Experience with EFTPOS environments Experience supporting AV systems, digital signage, or venue-based operational technology Exposure to IT governance and cyber security initiatives Exposure to bookings, reservations, ecommerce, or guest experience platforms Exposure to BI or data analytics tools Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT or equivalent practical experience At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar IT Analyst or IT Specialist role Why should you join the Zoo Crew?
