About the role The purpose of the Senior Project Officer, AOD is to coordinate the Aboriginal Metropolitan Ice Partnership (AMIP). AMIP is a collaborative initiative designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people affected by methamphetamine (Ice) and other substance use. The role will involve working alongside Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and mainstream AOD providers who deliver frontline services in the AMIP program. This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander designated position, classified under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act (2010). This employment opportunity is only available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Essential skills/experiences To be successful in this role, you will be a competent and confident Senior Project Officer, or a Project Officer that is chomping at the bit for the next stage in your career. You will have sound judgement, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and strong communication skills, with willingness to take the initiative. This role will enable you to draw upon your understanding of (or experience having worked within) the Victorian ACCO sector, to be able to work with Aboriginal peoples, Communities and organisations in a culturally safe, and appropriate, manner. We are looking for someone with at least several years' experience in the AOD sector in Victoria or equivalent. Strong inter-personal and stakeholder relationship management skills are essential. You will have an understanding of both the VADC and Penelope systems and be able to build and maintain successful partnerships between ACCO/ACCHO’s and mainstream partners.
