Position Overview Otao Kitchen is seeking a casual Cooking Instructor to join our dynamic teaching team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background, specialising in Western, baking and pastry arts or content creation. A passion for teaching and a customer-focused approach are essential, as our goal is to deliver unforgettable culinary experiences that meet and exceed our guests’ expectations. Requirements Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in both class/workshop/video settings. Develop lesson plans based on course descriptions and learning objectives. Maintain accurate documentation, including accessment, attendance, and learning outcomes. Integrate current industry trends, techniques, and technologies into teaching (videos, guest speakers, trips, etc.). Foster an inclusive and encouraging environment that supports students’ emotional, social, and educational growth. Safely manage and move kitchen equipment to accommodate each class. Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team. Key Competencies Proven expertise in culinary, baking or pastry arts, with a flair for innovation and presentation. Sensitivity and professionalism in working with guests and students from diverse backgrounds. Strong organisation, multitasking, and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Qualifications Certificate or Diploma in Cookery or Patisserie or equivalent culinary qualification. Minimum 3 years of professional pastry or bakery experience.
