Policy Support Officer Job No: 678332 Brisbane - Inner Suburbs & CBD, Adelaide, Perth Max Term Full Time Insurance Pay Band 2 We have a 6-month secondment opportunity available within our Insurance Operations team for a Policy Support Officer supporting Underwritten Workers Compensation Insurance . This role is accountable for delivering high-quality policy administration and business operations support , acting as a key referral point for policy support queries and contributing to a positive customer experience through accurate, timely, and compliant outcomes. What you’ll do Accurately and efficiently complete policy administration activities including quotes, new business, endorsements, cancellations, and renewals using insurance mainframe and web-based systems. Apply underwriting guidelines and business rules to assess information, identify exceptions, and support appropriate risk acceptance or referral within delegated authority. Analyse information, exercise judgement, and resolve minor issues by identifying options and recommending suitable outcomes. Manage individual workload and competing priorities to meet agreed service level agreements (SLAs) in a dynamic operational environment. Monitor and action work through centralised mailboxes, workflow systems, and internal phone queues. Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including responding to complex or sensitive enquiries professionally. Build and maintain effective working relationships with onshore and offshore teams to ensure seamless workflow progression. Ensure all work complies with policy, process, legislative, and compliance requirements . What you’ll bring Demonstrated experience and strong performance in a business operations or insurance administration role. Proven ability to balance multiple deliverables and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. Previous customer service experience , with the ability to build rapport and manage challenging interactions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data input and processing. Developing problem-solving and analytical skills , including the ability to consider multiple solutions and apply judgement. Well-developed organisational and time management skills . A results-focused and accountable approach to work. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
