Who are we looking for? We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Structures) to join our defence sector in Amberley, QLD . Your role In this role, your key responsibilities will include: Perform dismantling, inspection, repair, modification, and re-assembly of aircraft structural components, including fuselage, wings, empennage, flight control surfaces, and structural assemblies. Conduct detailed structural inspections in accordance with approved maintenance data, technical manuals, and regulatory requirements. Carry out sheet metal repairs, composite repairs, corrosion control, and structural rectification activities to ensure continued airworthiness. Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, including pre- and post-maintenance inspections of aircraft structures and related systems. Accurately document all maintenance actions, inspections, and repairs in accordance with organisational and regulatory record-keeping requirements. Assemble, fit, and align aircraft structural components, parts, and sub-assemblies using approved tools, techniques, and procedures. Support structural testing, defect investigation, and rectification activities, including participation in aircraft modification and upgrade programs. Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with WHS, quality, and safety management system requirements. The essential requirements Trade Certificate IV (Structures); Any C-27J experience; Heavy maintenance experience on transport aircraft; Highly skilled and competent in aircraft mechanical system troubleshooting, repair and installation of mechanical components. Strong team player; Ability to follow supervisory direction; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Consistent positive and proactive attitude; Passion for safe work practices; Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain); Current Australian Driver's licence.; and Australian citizenship and ability to gain Defence clearance.
