About your New Role: We have a casual position available for an experienced Handyperson to join the team at UniLodge Ultimo. The key responsibilities of this role are to maintain the apartments, common areas and building exterior. This role will also be responsible for managing the soft facilities requirements of the property. Day-to-day Duties: Inspect, report and carry out any general maintenance and minor repairs to rooms and common areas. General repairs such as light bulb changes, carpentry and general investigative work to ascertain potential issues. Assist in the effective operations of the building and its compliance to OH&S requirements. Operate within company health and safety procedures. Provide assistance in a professional and efficient matter to customers. Communicate effectively with other staff and contractors. Establish good working relations with contractors. Assist with major emergency issues after hours – i.e. water leakages, power failures, fire etc. About You: Our ideal candidate will possess a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to be a part of our fun team. You will be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role - any experience within accommodation, real estate or hospitality will be highly regarded. You will have a 'safety first' mindset and understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling. This role will keep you busy and will offer you variety in duties day-to-day. You will need to have the physical ability to move & relocate soft furnishings around property and be able to work both independently and within a team. Communication skills are key in this role as our staff and residents come from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate must hold a valid state Drivers Licence with no driving restrictions.
