Position Available : Regional Manager - Dangerous Goods (DG) Location : Gladstone or Richlands About the Role: This position is responsible for providing experience, knowledge, direction and guidance in the operation of the Bulk DG & Explosives to achieve safe, cost-efficient results by controlling, directing and maximising productivity in the Bulk DG & Explosives department. Key Responsibilities: Lead, grow, and mentor a variety of operations management departments to create value and success, carry out and accomplish the objectives given in the Bulk DG & Explosives Plan. To attain the necessary level of performance, make sure the Bulk DG & Explosives Operations Plan is communicated and understood, and that goals are cascaded down to direct reports and through the Operations Team. Make sure the agreed-upon goals and their completion deadlines are appropriately described in the Bulk DG & Explosives Operations Plan, which should be updated to match the business's needs. Work with business development, when required, to support development of Centurion’s dangerous goods and explosives transport growth. Work together with stakeholders to make sure that organisational objectives and commercial plans are in line. Work together with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial effects of strategic choices. Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximise profitability. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform business strategies. Ensure all Bulk DG & Explosives. documentation, policies and procedures are current and in line with each jurisdictions legislation and regulatory frameworks. Manage staffing levels and efficient and effective operation of the whole fleet. Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place to support customer delivery expectations and compliance. Maximise utilisation and return on all company assets. Focus on operational changes to increase efficiency and productivity as directed by the Operations Manager Bulk DG & Explosives. Accountable for expenditure, efficiencies and utilisation monitored through the performance review process. Monitor movement of the fleet to ensure safety, cost effectiveness and reliability. Attend and coordinate internal maintenance meetings as well as scheduling in equipment for planned and preventive maintenance. Ensuring processes and systems are followed as per the Australian Explosive Code. Collaborate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on-site and/or face to face to address immediate issues and streamline communication. Maintain face to face interactions with team and other departments while supporting cross-functional team culture to enhance engagement. Skills and Experience: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Financial acumen with a focus on cost management and revenue generation. Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities. Strategic thinking and ability to align business goals with market dynamics. Knowledge of industry regulations and market trends. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting. Ability to adapt to changing business environments. Extensive knowledge of the relevant state DG/EXP legislation. Broad knowledge of DG/EXP vehicle transport requirements. Effective written and oral communication skills. Strong relationship skills and ability to influence employees positively. Strong leadership, mentoring and management skills.
