Make a meaningful difference with UnitingCare Queensland Working across our four private hospitals, The Wesley, St Andrews, Buderim and St Stephens, the Senior Clinical Coding Auditor is responsible for conducting clinical coding audits to ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency across the organisation . This role provides education, mentoring, and support to clinical coders to improve coding quality, DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) allocation and appropriate remuneration , and maintain alignment with Australian Coding Standards and funding requirements. The position plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and professional development within the coding team . Your part in our UnitingCare team Conduct regular, systematic coding audits across specialties, ensuring compliance with Australian Coding Standards, ICD-10-AM/ ACHI and Uniting Care Health policies. Identify coding discrepancies, trends and areas for improvement. Prepare audit reports with recommendations for corrective action, and in many cases implement the recommendations . Support accurate data collection for funding, reporting, and clinical governance. Support the Clinical Coding Manager or Patient Accounts Manager in on-site health fund audits. Audit Clinical Documentation queries and maintain accurate and appropriate Clinical Documentation Query templates Act as a SME in the Clinical Coding and Documentation Improvement team, demonstrating the values of UnitingCare and providing coaching to the team on coding excellence . Tertiary education in a related field (e.g. Business, Accounting, Health Information, Health Administration) Demonstrated knowledge of the broader health care sector, or experience working in a private hospital environment Ability to manage or support multiple projects with multiple stakeholders Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a highly motivated team environment Strong professional manner, focused commercial acumen and operational emphasis to deliver on time Strong analytics experience to derive solutions from data; verbal and written communication skills (including public speaking), and report writing Experience working with Patient Administration and Billing and Claiming systems in the Australian Private Hospital context would be considered advantageous Demonstrated knowledge of casemix and health fund payment arrangements in the Australian Private Health sector would be considered advantageous What makes a difference for you?
