Case Worker - Townsville Classification: SCHADS Level 4 Employment Status: Full-Time Location: Rowes Bay, Townsville Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About the Role The Case Worker will deliver high-quality, participant-centred services within a recovery-oriented framework. This role focuses on providing effective case management, assessment, referral, education, and support in line with The Salvation Army (TSA) policies and guidelines. This role works in the Townsville Recovery Services facility, a 70-bed voluntary facility for participants willing to work towards recovery. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support participants on their recovery journey, ensuring services are delivered in a respectful, strengths-based, person-led, and trauma-informed environment. How You Will Make an Impact Deliver efficient day-to-day service provision through education, targeted interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case work within a recovery-oriented, participant-led service model Develop, implement, and review individual treatment and case plans in partnership with participants Maintain accurate and timely case management documentation, including records, reports, and data collection, in accordance with established procedures Undertake additional duties as required by the Centre Manager, Client Service Lead, or Senior Case Worker Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services Networking and Collaboration Develop and maintain strong knowledge of internal and external referral pathways and support services available to participants Work collaboratively and professionally with internal teams and external agencies to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery What You Will Bring Minimum Diploma-level qualification in a relevant discipline (Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services, Case Management, or similar) Completion of four (4) AOD Skill Set Units , or willingness to undertake and complete these during employment Demonstrated ability to manage unpredictable situations and behaviours using appropriate de-escalation techniques Minimum two years’ experience in a recovery-focused or relevant support role (where applicable) Sound computer literacy and experience with client management systems Strong capacity for critical reflection on professional practice and attitudes Ability to design and adapt programs to meet the individual needs of participants Current QLD Blue Card Current Driver’s Licence What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
